Newroads offers you the ability to add a little of your personality to your
email address. By creating an Email Alias, you can have a vanity email
address, but still only check your MyNewroads email box. Just choose a email
name and then from the listed domains, select the one that fits you the
best.
Get a GOHOGSGO.NET email address to show your support for the local hog
farmers, or maybe you're a fan of the old spaghetti westerns and would like
a GOCOWBOYSGO.NET email address. How about letting everyone know that you
like a particular type of dog with a GODOGSGO.NET address. You decide, you
choose, you use.
The options are endless and unique to you. Maybe while you are using
GOHOGSGO.NET to support the local under appreciated Hog Farmer, the next guy
is using it because he likes Motorcycles, and the next guy uses it because
he loves a bacon sandwich, or maybe because he likes the All You Can Eat
Pizza Buffet.
Whatever you choose, for whatever reason, your email alias will send any
emails sent to the address straight to your MYNEWROADS.COM mailbox. One
mailbox, two email addresses. It's that simple. We supply the address, you
supply the reason. Best of all, there is no additional charges to use an
alias.

1. What is an Alias email?
An Alias email is a special email address that points to your Mynewroads Mailbox. It is like having a second unique fun address for your existing Mynewroads mailbox. When someone sends an email to your new alias email address, the email is then forwarded, inside our system, to your Mynewroads Mailbox. The sender doesn't even need to know your MYNEWROADS email address. Give everyone your easy to remember gohogsgo.Net email address, if you want, instead of your MyNewroads address; it doesn't matter because it all goes to the same place. An Alias is just a fun way for you to express your interest or hobbies by selecting from one of our defined listings.
2. How do I setup a new alias?
If you have a MyNewroads email box, click on the USER TOOLS link at www.mynewroads.com and log in using your MyNewroads email address (joedoe@mynewroads.com) and your password. Once you are logged in, click on the Email Alias link.
3. Do I need to make any changes to my computer or Webmail to use an alias?
No. Email sent to an Alias will go into your Mynewroads mailbox, so there is nothing to change to use an Alias.
4. How do I check for any email sent to my new alias?
By checking your MYNEWROADS box, you will get any email sent to the alias. An Alias isn't an email box, it just forwards your email to your existing Mynewroads email box.
5. Does my alias have to be the same as the Mynewroads email address?
No. You can choose the email address that best fits your interest, as long as no one else is using it. NOTE: Our Email policies also apply to alias names. Failure to follow Newroads guidelines can result in termination of services.
6. Can I change or modify my alias address?
That is why there is a MODIFY button. You can change any part of your alias. Only one change is allow within every hour, though.
7. Is my Alias ready to use when I add it or make a change to it?
An Alias can take up to an hour to become ready to use after being added or changed.
8. If I delete an email address, can I get it back?
Yes. If no one else has claimed it, you can get it back. If someone else is using it now, then it is theirs. Sorry. Don't delete what you want to keep!
9. If I change my alias, will I still get emails from my old alias?
Emails sent to the old alias address will not be put into your email box. They will be rejected.
10. Can I tell if someone else used an alias address before me?
No. While Newroads does track all users of an alias, that information is not available to others outside Newroads employees. A deleted alias will stay out of circulation for 6 months before being assignable again, but there is not guarantee that it has not been used, or how it was used by prior customers. Picking an uncommon or unusual email address can help make sure it has not been used before.
11. How do I make my outgoing messages show my new Alias, instead of the MyNewroads address?
If you are using Outlook express do the following.
- Click on Tools.
- Click on ACCOUNTS and then the MAIL TAB.
- Click on the Mynewroads account listed there and then click on PROPERTIES to the right. You will be on the GENERAL tab of properties. Change the REPLY address to your alias.
12. Can I delete an alias?
Yes. Hit the delete button in the alias interface.
13. People are sending emails to the alias, but I don't ever get them.
All Alias addresses end in ".net" so be sure they are using ".net" in the address. If you use ".com" it won't work. gohogsgo.NET is correct, gohogsgo.COM is WRONG.
14. How many alias addresses can I have?
There can be one alias per MyNewroads mailbox.
15. I have an Newroads Access Only Internet account, can I get an Alias?
NO. Alias addresses only work for Mynewroads email accounts. You must have a Mynewroads email box to use an alias.
16. Can I get an Email box without anything else?
Newroads offers MyNewroads email box service for $4.95 per month.
17. How much does an Alias cost?
An Alias is free, free, free, free, free.
18. Can my alias point to another email address?
No. An Alias will only point to the Mynewroads mailbox.
19. Are the listed alias address domains my only choice?
Yes. Only the domains listed in the drop down menu are useable.
20. Can I get SPAM and Viruses through my Alias?
Yes. Just like email addresses, a Virus or SPAM can be sent to an Alias address.
IMPORTANT: Newroads does not support the use of any alias or email for
supporting activities or entities, where the support of the activity or
entity would be illegal, immoral, or infringe on others legal rights.
Failure to follow this policy can result in the termination of the use of
the alias.
